Jaco Beach Baby

I spent countless hours creating a hip imovie that really captured my experience in Costa Rica. Naturally, I cannot figure out how to post it here. I could go on and on about my vacation in Jaco, but instead, I will let the photos speak for themselves... With a little additional commentary from yours truly :)

We stayed at a place called School of the World which focusses on creating a learning vacation for guests. School of the World offers yoga, surfing, spanish, photography, and videography. For our 1 week vacation, we paired surfing and yoga.

ENJOY!

School of the World, from the pool. Just beyond the surfboards is a shared kitchen, yoga studio, classrooms, and a courtyard.

Hanging out before early morning yoga with coffee in hand. Not posing for this photo. Definitely not posing.

School of the World was just a short (and hot) walk from the beach. The walk to the beach consisted of surf shops, bars, and smoothie shacks. Did I mention it was hot AF?

Let me start by saying that I surfed all but one day of the trip because at one point I was too sunburnt to function. Days 1-3 were ROUGH, but eventually it clicked and I looked less like a beached whale and more of an actual surfer... Or lobster. Although I did have a Gopro with me for the trip, I didn't trust myself to surf with it in hand so you'll have to use your imagination. Above is a photo of the surfboards up on the beach at the end of the day.

Here is my inspiring travel partner, practicing her headstands in the yoga studio.

Here we are jumping into the waterfalls at Tres Pilas. Our surf instructor was kind enough to introduce us to this local treasure.

This concludes my first show and tell. Aren't you glad I'm not dieting anymore!?
